Notes PONG CHIP The TV Master MK IV uses the AY-3-8500 integrated circuit (IC) by General Instrument Microelectronics. They were one of the pioneers MOS large-scale integration (LSI) microelectronic circuitry. It is a single chip solution for a pong game, which became very popular in 1977. There were two versions of the AY-3-8500 IC, this one was for a 625-line raster for PAL standard televisions, whilst AY-3-8500-1 was for a 525-line raster for NTSC standard televisions, otherwise identical.
